As part of my second career efforts, I found a company on the Internet that helps freelancers get work: Elance.com. You tell them what skills you have, how much you want per hour, and some background info. If you get an assignment through them they take about 10% from your payment.
I am not sure this is a great way to pursue consulting jobs but it cannot hurt, let's see what happens.
Work also continues on the Canadian Certified Financial Planner course. It is amazing to see all the rules around retirement savings and pensions in Canada. The theme seems to be "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". We don't want you (and your spouse) to be too poor in retirement but we don't want you to be too rich either, we will make up a lot of programs and regulations to make sure your retirement is "just right".
